Our favourite wall in the apartment

Sitting in the living room of my currently very shit-hole potential apartment, i have a clear view of my trashy/artsy magazines on our shoe-rack cum magazine holder on one side, half eaten junk on one side, clothing in boxes on every side, our toy boy gingerbreadman lying on what looks like leftover icing sugar on the coffee table, storage boxes everywhere, furniture disposition in the most un-glam of manner in 3 different spots, my favourite blood red teapot left unwashed and me sitting on my favourite camping spot munching on awesome cherries while typing away in my currently neon green infested finger.

    we're packing and moving again.

No, of coure we don't usually let ourself live in a shit hole of such, though.... many would disagree to my statement. ok i admit. we live messy. i love being a student. and one thing that comes along with the student tag is to be able to live in a high rise AUD$7** a week rent apartment and LIVE like a student. no chores,  no cleaning, just you walking over ur pile of clothes and rummaging through ur make-up clad 2 sink bathroom searching for ur eye lash curler and immerge in your ritual swoop swoop head bang slash imaginary mic session while Saosin's blasting on the speakers.i love living life as a student. Living like how Samwee lives scares me a lot. i duno how he copes.

    GRrrrrrrrrr I HATE PACKING.

wish me luck ppl while i fold and be neat. yuck.

we'll be heading back to Adelaide. see you on the other side.

ps: Bamboo Stereo and Sjoolz returning for the new year very soon. heads up.

    * Loved and still loving this song. Going back 10 years to 1998 yo

  • Snippets

I had an elderly man apologise to me today for not taking off his hat while having a conversation with me. I gave him a look initially then realised he wasn't trying to be funny or anything. not with his innocent dopey eyed expression he wasn't. I couldnt hold back my smile.

gone were the days when gestures of such were the basic essence of life.

    .............

i gave the biggest ' Knew it' line over a telephone conversation with botak when he told me that X finally confessed about the issue that we've been trying to pull outta him for years. Being a person who doesn't seem to give a fuck about life as a whole,X certainly, most definitely made me go all tofu on the inside with his lil confession. I guess everyone's only human.

Whatever it is, i do pray that things go his way. Even if it means breaking some hearts.

    .............

Trey was telling me over lunch today about her pretty fucked up situation. What would you do if you're caught in a cat and dog fight with ur best mate's mother? To disrespect or to do things that doesnt go in line with ur moral understandings.

    yergh.

    ............

because we be dope, we crazy and we love each other:

    we be dope

    we be dope 2

    we be dope 3

    we be dope 5

    we be dope 7

    we be dope 6

Current state of mind: Packing is stress. Salty to agree.

I woke up to the sight of my wardrobe. Gah. It was scary.

I've forgotten the art of folding clothes. no wait a minute. i dun think there's ever a time i've folded a piece neatly. ever.

It was always Via (and kakak) who'd spoil me and patiently fold my entire wardrobe, sorting out in colours like its the easiest thing to do.and its always Yee or Tats that would do the folding for Bamboo. never me. One could pretty much imagine my junksite now that i live outside of home. It flows like the River Nile i don't even bother closing its door. With Bren and her photo proof, i only wish i could live in denial.

My attempt to sit down and work on the chore is always cut back by that evil voice telling me that i'd be continuing my nomad cycle once again so why give a fly's ass. and because i IS evil and i IS lazy, the River Nile it is.

need to start packing again. shoot.

    god bless me.

    ..............

Of all things good and evil, i made the choice of cultivating the River Nile by joining the bandwagon and hitting the stores for boxing day sales. holy mother of god: never have i seen Sydney THAT packed with gila ang mohs and asians with the rough estimation of 25% crazy women trying shoes, 25% crazy women slabbing on public make up, 30% crazy women fighting for fitting rooms and the remaining 20% crazy gay men shreakin OMMGGGG that is.. like soooo totally fab. fling hand fling hand.

sad to say i was in the 25% quarter of women slabbing on public make up, spending a  bomb at Kit, Lancome and M.A.C. AND the 25% quarter of women trying shoes. AND the 30% crazy women fighting for fitting rooms. Having my shopping accomplice going 'YEAH YEAH...NICE NICE.....NNNOOIIICEEEE' didnt help much either.

GO river nile. May u flow like the river nile should.

    .............

Hair gone crazier. same colour. same length. just crazier

    xmas

So let's just say my Xmas consisted of a lot of blue and pink. Whether it means anything is beside the point.

Like i said to Singz...the traditional Xmas dinner i cooked up for the pack turned out to be very un-traditional. Hyuk hyuk.  Fingers crossed that my honoured guests wore eye-patches on one eye. make it both eyes. At least that way i could still save LCB's grace from THINGS. ugly THINGS. very ugly THINGS.

but thanx to 'Richard', 'Robert', 'Mike', Joseph', D-U DUUUUU, and a whole lot of rope balancing and bomb dodging with boo, toad and that one hell of a fat ugly yellow creature. this whole blue and pink xmas was totally workin for me. thanx u guys.

eve with my italia mafia, Franco was another blue and pink spot when Soldiers of Twilight was on max, us crapping bout the states while drinkin chambord/lemonade/bitters, a courteous recipe from the mafia himself as a result of of my infamous alcohol tolerance. All the way up on the 31st floor with that blardy orange coloured full moon and the whole of Sydney's harbour view all to ourselves. It can't get any pink-er than that.

I hope u guys had a glimpse of pink and blue this xmas.

merry xmas and god bless all of you.

  • Back to honks and city lights

    rt

To say that i had fun would be an understatement. Try being shipped to a foreign town, with a bag of  basic necessities thrown to you, a car and a map (and of cos some duit saku) -- anyone would go crazy (good crazy ppl, good crazy). Even Siku did.

Apart from the couple of oversized shirts i snatched myself from that awesome opshop at Taopo, i didn't do any shopping. *clap hand clap hand* This trip is by far the most genuinely refreshing family trip we've had so far. Our previous escapades always fell in the retail/food quarter. But this trip was definitely--refreshing. Plus. there were 11 of us, family friends who were jokers, all the more.

    huka prawn 7

My favourite was prawn fishing down at Huka prawn farm. All catch could be taken back home or cooked for you for no charge. Pretty good deal. So good we went back there for a second round. Sat there for hours under the hot sun catching those 30 poor prawns, steaming it with its own stock and then downing it like it was sweet sweet candy.

    huka

You see that head there with those 2 lil black eyes. Lookin so cute--ya that's the best part.

    huka prawn 3

Chomping on mackerel + cucumber sandwiches

    huka prawn 2

    Mum/ Aunty Sam

    huka prawn

    Full-on. Caught 8. Don't mess.

Samwee told me to definitely check out Luge and Zorb. and now im telling everyone to definitely check it out the next time u go to the north islands. It was so awesome i felt like a 12 year old giggling nincompoop flashing too much teeth and looking very ugly. but still. it was fun.

    zorb

    So this is Zorb.

They drive u up the hill. and then they make conversation to distract u cos u look like a coward about to pee in your knickers. They ask about ur home country and rave about how they love Malaysia. and the next thing u know. you get put into this massive bouncing ball containing water. they trap u in. they roll u down the hill. and then those few seconds in the ball would consist of u crazy laughing with ur lil sister, holding up ur pants to save ur gluteus maximus's grace and missing a whole lot of ur bf.all in all one hell of a ride.and the rest as they say..is history.

i can guarantee: you'll come out of the Zorb lookin like a wet crazy baboon flashing a million dollar gum infested smile and a whole lot of perky chest. billion dollar shot.

    luge 3

    luge 2

nincompoop in luge for you. super awesome.

    waiotapo

    My family's rear end

and then u have the usual mud pools, sulphur pools, thermal dadas...

unless anyone really enjoys the aromatic scent of sulphur which incidently (in my opinion) smells like a week-old fart. skip this.

    trout 2

Would definitely recommend splashing a few yellow nz notes hiring a boat for trout fishing. We headed in 2 seperate boats. brought home 4 trouts with one sent to the smoke house. Bake it. Fry it. Steam it. Raw it.

    trout 2

    trout 4

    trout 3

I sliced a piece for myself to try and almost puked. Our catch fair badly compared to the other boat that caught the better trout. and we thought we could have freshly sliced sashimi on the boat. we wish. so i ended up working the kitchen and making the family some bake trout. At least they didnt puke.

    trout

    trout

we love raisins, tuna and crackers on boat

    rt 2

    sulphur

Surviving this trip without a sense of time and day, no hp line, no internet access, no shopping-away from everything and anything was truly awesome. Of cos the earthquake we felt brought along some excitement to the whole trip. Well well. as a true blue kiwi would say--- Haere Mai.

can't you tell my enthusiasm for the moos and the mehs.

    till then.

  • Tell me i did the right thing

    pink dress

for not investing my cash in this vintage beauty. Just look at the detailings laaaa. With that piece of lace, i could flap my wings like a nutcase and STILL look like a rockstar. I would've cut the length but i wouldve been sentenced for a life time of bad food if i ever lay hands and chop off that beautiful hem line. So i let it go and now im dreaming of it day and night. le sigh.

    big eye small eye

Melbourne was short. With the time we had and the things we did. I think we scored good.

    Managed to:

    - fly to Ito. grabbed my favourite ramen. well. the only ramen i ever eat anyway. the one thing i really missed in Melbourne.

    - convert MarkyBoy. well. he converted in Sydney. But that old skool jeans he scored really converted him full-time.

    - Koko-ed myself. super dissapointing this round. My Gyu Sashi failed me like my P.Moral.

    - hit Stokers with StokersBoy. Catch up with old times and chomp on my fave pancakes with sugar and lemon.

    - expand my collection.

    - look at my latte and go wow....then sip it and go WOOOOWWWW....

    - have good breakfast with Brenz and Chunkz. poached eggs were cooked to perfection. let it run let it run.

    - see my cuzz changing into a man.

    walking on canvas

However overated this place is. i still have a soft spot for it.

    no idea

After all that talk and rubbish. im still lost on what i should do. Should i really pursuit textile design, fashion merchandising, something along the line in Melbourne or hit straight into the bee-hive and produce honey. preferably not Manuka la. Someone, something-enlighten me. Let me see light.

    pong

    Let us pong you retarded

It felt like a month ago when...

We were in our favourite apartment walking over piles of clothing, rummaging through bubble wraps and useless text books packing away our shit to be shipped to Sydney. Well, there wasnt any bubble wraps to be honest. It was us chucking everything into anything that looked durable enough for rain, shine and pigeons.

That was almost 6 months ago.

Ergh. i hate how time flies.

Tomorrow. We'll be heading to Melbourne. then back. then NZ. then back. then to Adel once more. All in slightly more than a month.

We're flying off in about 5 hours time. My bags arent packed. Yay.

I'm ready to splash cash. But i don't think my eyes are gonna settle for anything less than 8 hours sleep.

    Wish us luck.
