  • Where are my angpows?

It seems that making every effort to celebrate CNY in a city namely Adelaide is quite impossible.

Instead of feeding myself silly with mandarins, feasting on ahma's perut ikan, abalone soup, curry chicken, chai bui and my favourite sambal ulam (i know its not Raya, but my ahma's so nyonya we cant help but be raised that way), and HEEELLOOOO!!! collect angpows, i slapped myself up from a 5 hr slumber and sat myself at the lecture hall minutes after to sing praises (read: eyes half closed and coffee in hand) to Contract Law to which id like to describe as Absolute C.R.A.P *YAWN* SLEEP.

    boo the hoo hoo.

I could rant further but me being me, i would take myself and go hunt in the jungle, chop some trees and make myself some angpows and maybe some chinese paper cuttings if it means feeling a lil bit more festive. It's one of the best times of the year and my only chance of allowing myself to pump the numbers on the scale without having to go yerggghhhhhhiiaaaookkk and regret when i look at myslelf in the mirror while i chomp on a piece of 5 spice stewed pork belly. oh the yum.

but hey! you'd think i skipped the dong dong chiang festivity and all, but u think wrong.

cos in all efforts of the B.Junkies, we threw ourselves our own tuan yuan fan and invited 18 of our kakis over for dinaaa. had my favourite deep fried nian gao for supper, wore my bright red sweater over my favourite gray loose tee on the first day and comtemplated on wearing my favo red undies for extra good luck but saw it still left hanging to dry on the line. damn (i tried). I'm so silai when it comes to things like this im disgusted at myself.

So all u lucky people out there celebrating CNY with ur family and collecting all MY angpows, i wish u all

    GONG XI FA CAI!!

all become fat fat and happy happy

(while i sit back and eat more nian gao until i puas giler)
