 Snippets of my life in the French School....

My cuisine practical exam today was pretty effed up...me no happy....

With only a mere 3 hours of sleep....i guess i wasnt thinking right in the head when i was making the 'Sabayon' for the passionfruit mousse....

i was meant to WHISK VIGOROUSLY.....!!!!

...not STIR it like a French Maiden using a damn WOODEN SPOON.....

seriously...when i saw the finished product of the Sabayon...i literally wanted to smack my head hard on the oven door...

and i guess thats why mine ended up lookin somewhere close to a mousse that has been eaten up by someone (by force) then puked out again...then served SPLAT on the plate......

I looked at it i thought to myself....

daaannnng.....this is meant to be 'Mousse au Fruits de Passion avec Tuiles aux Amandes' .....and what i've got looked more like a 70% discounted butter sponge cake bought from the thrift store down the road

The next in line is to write a 1500 word restaurant review to be handed up on friday.....

Having done quite a couple of restaurant reviews...this shouldve been the easiest assigment to do by far...

but strangely enough...im taking foreveeevveerrrr to do it...

describing the utmost orgasmic trio of raw squid, squid ink noodles and salmon caviar in plain words...is not so easy after all......

i want to goyang kaki in my old skoolies, drink cincau and makan popiah....19 days and counting!!!

i posted pin-ups everywhere tellin' ppl about the unlucky encounter i had with my virus-clad flashdisk yesterday..(i didnt really...but u get my drift)

Having work on 2 reports for the last few days..i finally finished the 2 out of the 10 i have due..

and was ready to print it in campus when..

my flashdisk freakin bulldoze the crap on me and screwed up BOTH my files..40 minutes before due time...

wow.

so how was i suppose to go back home, retrieve my files, print, drive back to campus during peak hour, bind the freakin thing and throw it into the assignment box all in half an hour....impossible...since the drive home itself takes 10-15 mins....

yeah...so basically...5% of each report would be taken off for every day late...so there goes 10% like tat...

cursing and swearing the whole damn night...i was hoping...just praying that the ozies will be their ozy selves and not clear the assignment box for the day just cos they wanted to rush home at 5pm and watch 'Deal or No deal' while chomping on marmite and bread...* prays hard prays hard*

soooo...fast forwarding 12 hours

i held onto my reports like it was my baby and walked into the admin office....*prays hard prays hard*

' hhmm...excuse me...Have u cleared the assignment box from yesterday? '

the admin lady gave me a smirk and said, ' you're really lucky, why?...was this for yesterday? '

' yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssss.............!!!!!!!.....omgggg...yyyeesss...thank youuuuuu!!!!!....'

she gave me a smile, ' yeah...so your report will be stamped yesterday's date...'...

yyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.......i was THHHHATTTT MUCHHHH relieved......omggg laaaaaaaaa.....

It was during accountings when our goosebumps popped like a freaking pop corn machine when Decena told us about her supernatural encounter at her place last night...

talking about luck....i kinda DO believe in it when it comes to the supernatural...

Having to see with your own eyes at 4 am in the morning, a black figurine looking down at ur sleeping parents and then popping its head out of the door to see you just cos it heared you peeping through the doors..........

IS SUPER NOT FUNNY OOKKKKKK!!!!!!!......

Decena was always a kick arse chic...but seeing her tremble while talking the words made me realised how freaked out she was...i mean like...really.....i would be.....!!.....

i wouldnt know what to do........

i just did a 360 degrees dive into the land of the never ending.....

typing 30,000 words while swearing repeatedly at the computer screen isnt exactly the sort of lifestyle i was quite hoping for....

Though taking a 10 minute break and walking to my favourite truffle store in my skin tight crocodile skin sweatpants, goat fur woolies and my signature messy chicken hair was absolutely life saving...only cos i DID buy 7 truffles and a skinny latte instead of the usual 10 minute gawk stare  at their Death By Chocolate everytime i float pass the store.

(i've been crappin so much on the computer that my level of creative writing increased so tremendously as how i could describe my entire very couture outfit with the use of 3 animal species....wow)

On the much much brighter side, THANX TO ALLLLL that have supported me so much with my clothing sales....love love and more love....you guys just officially made my life better....so that if by any chance i have 15 boxes of stuff to pack....i now have 14 boxes!!....hah...naaaah...really.....

THANK YOU VERY MUCH...

i will be posting up more stuff to sell when ive got more free time....

Kenji Modern Japanese

Being a big time slut for all things Japanese, i never say no to a Japanese meal. Or any kind of meal for that matter.hm.

Been wanting to try this place for ages now since it was self-proclaimed to be a Japanese restaurant with a modern take. I knew i had to give it one shot.

Im munching on some left-over kimchi from the fridge while i type this very moment and how i wish i was munching on some beautiful Ika instead.....ergh...jap jap jap

anyways...here goes....

Started with Kenji's mixed platter of appetizer

the Tuna tartare served with avacado and passionfruit dressing was probably the best of the lot

YUM!!!!

This Hotate was absolutely OMG.....

Creamy baked half shell scallops with wakame and salmon roe

this is the absolute cum-face dish

cos it makes you do so. like really

Oysters prepared 3 ways: crumbed served with mayo, naturale, and a japanese dressing which i cant recall

hhhmmm...this one was average-ish...no biggie

Wagyu Beef Rump Steak with potato gratin, watercress and horseradish cream

this one went surpsingly well with the horseradish cream, but the wagyu's texture left much to be desired for.

trout i think it was served in some japanese sauce.

didnt quite like this

thought the sauce didnt quite go well with the fish

Dessert were up next

Matcha ice cream with almond fillo, poached persimmon and red bean paste

i liked how this was rather French influenced but yet still very Japanese.

and the red dates poached with the persimmon was rather WOW..

Yuzu and Ginger Brulee with Rhubard Sorbet

hhmm..almost seemed like a Japanese Brulee....hhhmm...

duno if i quite liked this one....

Operation TEN in desperate need of a speeding ticket

Its been a crazy past week since XO and i dun think its gonna get any better.....good things and bad things happenened but that's about all there is to it.

Having a back-to-back schedule is not kicking the right sack for me....

In desperation to burst open the Endotaspa package, i tried to make a booking but they HAD to be fully booked till June....dang the dang...so we'll just have to wait very patiently till we get that tri-hour bliss.

The fly-over to Melbourne over the weekend wasnt one of the best getaways solely due to my lack of energy from my currently hectic lifestyle...and of cos the pocket holes only got wider by the time i touched down.....but surely having Singz around AND her self-prepared dinner wasn't quite that horrifying after all....ey?
